POM POM SENSORY BAG
POM POM SORTING SENSORY BAG
This at home activity for kids is a color sort sensory bag with pompoms instead of beads. Although it is intended for toddlers, it can also be used as a good demonstration of comparison circles for older kids.
MATERIALS:
Colored permanent markers or nail polish
Colored small pom poms
INSTRUCTIONS:
Using permanent markers or nail polish, make circles that match the colors of the pompoms.
Fill the bag with hair gel and pompoms.
Seal the bag with tape. Tape it to the table as well.
Ask your little ones to sort the beads into the right color circle.
Tip 1: Make sure to use freezer strength bags and strong tape for these. You don’t want the gel leaking everywhere.
Tip 2: Permanent marker will eventually fade. You can use nail polish for longer lasting circles or flip the bag so that the circles are on the backside. Since the bag is clear and so is the gel, you’ll still be able to see the colored circles and able to sort the pompoms well.
Tip 3: You can erase the label by rubbing cotton with alcohol.
