MAGIC PATTERNS DIY FOR KIDS

Have you ever discovered painting with water? It is magic! Put down some colored paper with water and a paint brush beside it. Watch your little one be in awe of the cool patterns discovered as they paint away!

Best part of this at home activity for kids, it is so simple and easy to make with household items!

This activity takes it to another level! Watch as the colors magically appear from underneath. Write a secret message that only they can uncover when they complete the activity!

MATERIALS:

  1. Paper Towels

  2. Washable Markers

  3. Water

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Draw a pattern, make dots or write something on a piece of paper towel.

  2. Add a plain piece of paper towel on top to conceal the message underneath. I added two pieces because my paper was thin and you could see through it with just one.

  3. Hand your child a dropper, paintbrush, or spray bottle along side some water.

  4. Have them paint over the paper towel, revealing whats underneath.

Tip: If you are doing this with really young ones, tape down the paper. Their first instinct will be to pick up the paper. Also, use liquid food coloring if you want the colors to appear more vibrant.
