HEALTHY FRUIT ROLL UP RECIPE
Any fruit roll up lovers out there? It is that one candy from my childhood that I am still obsessed with. This natural homemade recipe is a healthier alternative to relive it! Same feeling of unrolling with good wholesome ingredients. Can be done with practically any fruit for a variety of flavors! You may follow these same steps but modify quantities and cooking time slightly. It makes for the perfect summer snack or afternoon sweet for kids!
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups strawberries
1 tbsp lemon juice
3 tbsp honey
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat the over to 170 degrees F
Wash and prepare the strawberries
Puree the strawberries using a food processor or blender.
Add the pureed strawberries to a non stick pot.
Add the lemon juice and honey. Cook on medium to high heat until it becomes a thick jelly consistency.
Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the mixture on top.
Spread evenly into a thin layer.
Bake for 3 hours or until the fruit lather has dried out.
Cool and cut into strips. Roll up like traditional fruit roll ups!
Store in the refrigerator.
