TIE DYE TOILET PAPER COLOR
TOILET PAPER COLOR TIE DYE PAINTING
I know what you are thinking, she just ruined a perfectly good toilet paper roll. Turn that thinking to, she just entertained her kids for a good hour and made colored toilet paper for future crafting activities! It is all about perspective and weighing the cost vs the benefits. My main goal is to entertain my girls but there’s always an underlying benefits to it all. Here they used droppers to transfer colored water to the paper roll.
This at-home activity for kids helps the little ones practice fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. There’s also a level of creativity and color mixing. Nothing like an activity for kids that in itself creates for a future arts and crafts activity, because when that TP dries it becomes gorgeous tie dye paper! Think of it as a unique type of recycled paper that can then be used for various crafts or even fun homemade streamers! So, stop thinking and get playing with your little ones.
Side note, my must have item is food coloring. I use it every single day. I use the wilton color right food colors. It includes a bunch of colors so that you don’t have to worry about mixing colors to make new ones (although you absolutely still can). There’s certainly differences between food colors so make sure you get highly concentrated ones. You can use several colors for a tie-dye effect like we did or use one or two colors to make a vibrant loo roll! I know several young girls who would love to have a roll of pink toilet paper on hand for whatever their crafty heart wants to create!
Materials For Painting Toilet Paper Rolls:
Water
White Toilet Paper
Dropper or Syringe
Instructions For Painting Toilet Paper Rolls:
Add one or two drops of food coloring to a little bit of water. If you have liquid water colors these could work too.
Decorate the toilet paper roll on all sides using the dropper.
If the toilet paper starts to unroll or fall apart while you’re coloring it, you can wrap a couple rubber bands around it to hold it in place. Just make sure to move the rubber bands around if you don’t want white stripes included in your colorful design!
Leave it to dry overnight.
And that’s it! How’s that for an everyday play hack! I’d love to know how this activity worked for your family! Tell me about your experience in the comments below!
