CLOUD SLIME RECIPE
DIY Cloud Slime Recipe
Only my absolute favorite new slime recipe right here. Slime needs to be the perfect consistency for me to love it. For me, slime has to be runny, butter soft, not sticky, and able to make those big, satisfying table bubbles. I’m picky, but this recipe is the real deal, I promise. It’s easy to make, super fun to play with, and feels just like store-bought, only better! Gather the family, grab the ingredients, and spend some time making slime together. Trust me, once you try this, it’ll be your new go-to recipe!
Cloud Slime Ingredients:
1/2 cup white school glue
1 tbsp baby oil
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp shaving cream
1 tsp contact solution (I always try to avoid boric acid)
4 tbsp instant snow (optional)
How to Make Cloud Slime:
Add the glue, baby oil, food coloring and the baking soda to a bowl and mix well.
Add in the shaving cream and mix well for the fluffy texture.
Pour in the contact lens solution and mix until the slime pulls off easily from the bowl. Mend a bit with your hands until it is not sticky.
Add the instant snow already grown. Mix until fully integrated with the slime.
Mend the slime with your hands until it is no longer sticky. It might take a few minutes but it will be less sticky the more you play with it.
Tip: If it is too sticky, add a little bit more of contact lens solution. One squirt at a time. You don’t want it to be too rubbery.
What Is Cloud Slime?
Cloud slime is a super special type of slime that’s known for its light, fluffy, almost dreamy texture. It’s really like stretching a cloud right in your hands. Unlike regular slime, which is usually glossy and stretchy, cloud slime has a soft, airy feel that comes from mixing instant snow powder into the base recipe. This gives it that signature fluffy pull look you’ve seen on TikTok, where it stretches into wispy strands and falls apart almost like cotton candy. It’s not as sticky, which makes it easier to handle, and it’s extra fun if you love sensory play. Kids and adults both enjoy it!
How to Fix Cloud Slime
Even the best cloud slime recipes can go a little wrong sometimes. Slime-making is part science experiment, part art project, so it’s normal for the texture to be a little off the first time. The good news is that most problems are super easy to fix with just a few tweaks!
Too Wet or Sticky: If your slime feels slimy instead of stretchy, don’t panic. Just add a tiny bit more instant snow powder or sprinkle in some cornstarch. These ingredients help soak up the extra moisture so your slime can hold its shape better and stop running everywhere. Add slowly and knead well after each addition. You want to make sure you don’t overdo it.
Too Dry or Crumbly: Sometimes the slime can feel stiff or start breaking apart when you pull it. To fix this, work in a few drops of water or glycerin at a time until it softens up. Be patient and knead it thoroughly. I’ve found that slime almost always improves the longer you handle it!
Falling Apart: If your slime just won’t stay together, it usually means the base needs a little more glue. Mix in a small amount of slime at a time until you notice it stretching smoothly again without snapping into chunks.
Remember, cloud slime is all about that fluffy, stretchy, cloud-like feel, and it can take a little practice to get it just right. With these simple adjustments, you’ll be back to making wispy pulls and soft, dreamy textures in no time at all! Hopefully you’ll love this recipe as much as I do!
