DIY WATER STRESS BALL WITH WATER BEADS

If you have been through my Amazon list, you’ve probably stumbled onto these water beads! These are essential for fun sensory play activities and can be used to make an easy sensory toy. This time, I made these colorful DIY stress balls, which may definitely may come in handy any day!

I bought a pack of water beads a few years ago and it has lasted me a long long time so I highly recommended you get some. Water beads are really versatile and awesome to play with. After a while they get a little yucky though, so this DIY is a great way to reuse them!

MATERIALS:

  1. Water Beads

  2. Reuse empty plastic bottle

  3. Ballon

  4. Funnel

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Fill the plastic bottle with water beads using the funnel and a toothpick to poke the water beads through. Fill the bottle to as big as you want the ball to be (I recommend filling it about half way).

  2. Blow up the balloon

  3. Without letting the air out, carefully wrap the tip of the balloon around the top of the bottle opening. Make sure it’s on there pretty securely.

  4. Holding the top of the bottle, where the balloon is attached, flip the bottle upside down to allow the water beads to fall into the balloon

  5. Once the bottle is empty and all of the beads are in the balloon, remove the balloon from bottle and let the air out. Tie the balloon.

Besides a great stress ball for us parents, it also is a great sensory activity for the little ones to experience different textures!

Benefits of a Stress Ball for Adults AND Kids

  • Reducing stress and tension: Stress balls can provide a physical outlet for nervous energy to help minimize stress

  • Sensory play: Stress balls engage the senses, particularly the tactile (touch) sense

  • Relaxation: Repeatedly squeezing and releasing a stress ball can help you feel more relaxed and provide a sense of calm

  • Hand strength: Using a stress ball can help strengthen the muscles in your hands and forearms, which is great if you suffer from arthritis

  • Improved focus: Using a stress ball can also make it easier to focus and concentrate, especially in stressful environments

  • Mindfulness: Squeezing a stress ball can be an effective mindfulness practice because it helps you stay grounded, present, and in the moment
