NUMBER HUNT SENSORY BAG

Have you tried the writing bag yet? If you have, this at home activity for kids is an extension of that sensory bag DIY. If you haven’t give this one a try!

This version sends your little ones hunting for numbers, letters, pictures, or whatever you want really! Just make sure to add a dark food coloring to the bag so that you can’t really see through it.

MATERIALS:

  1. Gallon size freezer zip lock bag

  2. Hair gel

  3. Food coloring

  4. Glitter

  5. White Paper

  6. Markers

  7. Tape

INSTRUCTAIONS:

  1. Write numbers randomly on the white paper.

  2. Fill the ziplock bag with hair gel. About 10 oz. Any cheap hair gel works.

  3. Add a couple drops of food coloring and glitter to the bag.

  4. Seal the bag leaving no air inside and mix very well until the color is fully blended.

  5. Tape the paper to the back of the bag number side down.

  6. Using strong tape, tape the top of the bag closed (here I used clear packing tape so that you can see through if but it is best to use a stronger tape.) Then tape the bag to the surface you’ll be using it on.

  7. Place different numbers next to the bag and have them search.
