FINE MOTOR TUBES DIY

See this content in the original post

How cute are these? I hope you’ve been saving all your paper rolls to make some recycled DIY toys! DIY learning tools are some of my favorite things to make! They are effective and FREE! Plus, these are adorable, useful, and practical.

Making it a fun theme like sun rays plays into kids imagination and makes it that much more exciting for them to practice important skills. I used both toothpicks and q-tips. I recommend q-tips for the younger toddlers if you are afraid they will pinch themselves with toothpicks. They are also easier to start out with.

You can even turn this fine motor skill activity into a color matching practice with different colored toothpicks and matching colors on the paper rolls!

MATERIALS:

  1. Reuse Paper rolls from paper towels

  2. Paint (optional)

  3. Q-tips or toothpicks

  4. Something sharp to make small holes, scissors or a knife work.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Choose a theme and paint the paper roll accordingly

  2. Make small holes to fit the toothpick or the q-tips. If you are using q-tips, paint the ends accordingly and cut it in half.

  3. Have your little one insert the picks into the holes.
