COLOR ABSORBING COTTON RAINBOW

This 3D cotton rainbow is inspired by my friend Create Laugh Learn. There is something so satisfying about watching the cotton absorbing the colored water, it’s mesmerizing. You would be surprised in how much water the cottons can actually absorb. And well, obviously, what better way to make these than with a rainbow themed pattern! The good thing about this at home activity for kids is that you can simply make it with items that are easily found at home.

MATERIALS:

  1. Paper

  2. Glue Stick

  3. Cotton Balls

  4. Water

  5. Food Coloring

  6. Eyedropper

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Make a rainbow outline on the paper using the glue stick.

  2. Add the cotton balls in the shape of a rainbow.

  3. Mix a drop of food coloring with a bit of water. Make one for each color of the rainbow.

  4. Using a pipette, drop water on each cotton to color the rainbow.

Try many different shapes and mixing colors for a longer indoor activity for your little ones.
